The Wednesday Lunch

    Each and every Wednesday, The Downtown Presbyterian Church offers the ministry of hospitality to Nashville's homeless and urban poor. Anywhere from 160 to 220 persons - everyone from the working poor to families who have lost their jobs to the down and out who need a hand up - come weekly to find nourishing food in a nourishing atmosphere. Afterwards, those who wish to join in "The Living Room," a support group for the homeless and formerly homeless, and "The Power Project," an advocacy group of homeless and formerly homeless persons who help both the government and the homeless find ways to alleviate this blight on urban living. This ministry largely runs on volunteers. If you would like to help please call the church office at 254-7584 to find out how you can best assist.
